Grrr. Aaargh.
I took an online IQ test. It signed me up for a monthly subscription without me confirming it. I think that docks IQ points on my part. Have to cancel tomorrow. Am furious at myself.

But, at least I know what the charge is and how it got there, and that's way better than it being someone else using my charge card.

I feel a bit...: enraged enraged

They DID? Are you sure its charging you? That's a lawsuit right there! I have had online tests that immediately subscribe me as well, but never to the point that I have to pay, so I can always just block. How can it charge you?

Good question. Most online free things are sneaky--they sign you up for internet mailing lists and other things unless you notice and uncheck their little check-boxes. And my bank is NASTY--they have made it so that if you want to check balances online, you have to go through a check-box subscription service to sign up--and there is NO WAY to uncheck ALL the boxes, saying you want no spam. So I put their mailing list address on my spam blocker.

However, to actually charge you they have to get you to give your credit-card information ...

:( I'm sorry, that has to be awful. Honestly, find their mailing address, and write a letter or something. Don't do it online - that'll make it worse, because they could just send you spam.

GRRRRRRR.. Now there is nastiness, there is. I would go over everything you bought very carefully and see if you can find where they hid the subscription .... if you can't find it, or if a reasonably intelligent person would miss it, go after them.

Wow, sorry for the hassle. That's a mean way of operating, really.

I'm scared about the proliferation of so-called 'IQ tests' on the web. They're going to do me out of a job.

Yeah... and my curiosity, cat-like, is going to kill me yet.
