This is fantastic! (I requested the ask-the-OC sequence, so this thrills me to bits.) Augusta is a great choice structurally and you write her brilliantly: she's sympathetic without being any less herself -- a fundamentally good woman with some very troubling blindspots. The moment where she specifically takes time to point Frank and Alice out to baby Neville is poignant and unnerving at the same time. I can't wait to get a look at just-pre-Hogwarts Neville, as well as Harry as raised by James and Lily, and really-grown-up Marauders. (Well, as really-grown-up as they have the capacity to be, anyway; I'll be interested to see what you do with them.) This glimpse of your Augusta makes me apprehensive, though; I have a feeling that her canon stance toward Neville might be exaggerated now that he is the chosen one.
Wonderful work. I'm so happy you decided to post after all!
