I tuned in to listen on the radio. Maybe I didn't exactly dance at the grand slam, but I was certainly walking around much more energetically than usual :).

This Cubs fan says congrats, Boston. Curses are made to be broken.

When fandoms collide

(Reverse the curse.)
As I suddenly visualize Hermione burying herself in the library looking for any information on the Curse of the Bambino and how to eradicate it once and for all...

Is it bad that I blacked out for about a minute when they got the last out? Honestly, I remember standing up for the out and then, next I knew, I was on the floor.

I was calling home while the game was on--yet I could follow the score perfectly thanks to the screaming of the insane fans living somewhere above me.

Now, *cough*, go cards. :)

Friend of mine came into class this morning with a funny?scary? story.

"I woke up this morning to the radio, and the DJ said 'The unthinkable has happened!' Immediately I thought 'Oh, no, there's been another attack! The president's been assassinated! What's going on?!'

"Then the DJ continued. 'The Yankees lost!' And sobbing on the radio commenced."

*snickering*

You know, I'm squealing like a fangirl too. And I'm from Colorado. And I have never shown more than the palest enthusiasm for my home team. It's got to be the curse aspect. Because when I heard about Tecumseh's Curse, never mind that it was broken before I was born, I had about the same reaction.
