Ooo! And two memes! - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
Ooo! And two memes!
More extensive than the last nostalgic meme, for those who just haven't gotten enough irrelevant details about my life. :)

Gakked from thewhiteowl

First best friend: Three answers.
Chrissi: First best friend, but I don't remember her much, other than what I've been told. She died when we were three.
The Twins: (Rebecca and Michelle) Second best friends, inseparable. Daughters of my mother's friend.
Jacques Curley: First best friend of choice, regardless of parental friendship. He lived in the apartment next door to one my grandmother owned. We didn't keep in touch or anything, but I still remember him quite fondly. We were friends from about five years old until we were about ten years old. Granted, he did cheat at Chutes-n-Ladders, but he also defended an unpopular friend against bullies and refused to play with them, even if they were popular, because they excluded me.
First car: N/A
First real kiss: Sorry to say it, but it was a random guy the week before my seventeenth birthday, because I swore I would be kissed while I was still sixteen. I remember that he was a Spanish speaker and I think his name was Tony, but I'm not sure. That was a bad idea.
First break-up: Never dated anyone.
First screen name: BEWalton17; FernWithy or JediGaladriel from the time I started pseuds.
First self purchased album: *wince* Madonna's first album.
First funeral: My great-grandmother's sister, Aunt Ora, when I was ten or eleven.
First piercing/tattoo: Ears. My mother froze my earlobes and pierced them with a sewing needle. One of them thawed partway through and had to be refrozen.
First credit card: American Express. I hate them.
First enemy: Missy whose-last-name-I-won't-list. She was my rival in Girl Scouts, and I hated her because she always got more badges and sold more cookies than I did, but everyone in the county knew her mother did the work for her, and mine refused to let me slide like that.
First big trip: Wow, Mom was always packing me in the car and taking me somewhere--she insisted on me seeing as much as was possible on a limited budget. I vaguely remember getting carsick in Philadelphia when I was five or six and there are pictures of me before I remember in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, but the first one I have clear memories of was coming to New England with my grandmother and her second husband, along with my two cousins, Amie and Keyna. We decided to skip the House of Seven Gables and catch it another trip, but it was destroyed by a hurricane only a few months later.
First music you remember hearing in your house: My mom sang Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, and a guy she was dating used to sing me "A Horse With No Name" as a lullaby. And The Beatles. Always.

Last Cigarette: 1994? 1995? I've only smoked a couple of the vile things, and I don't like the way they taste and hate the way they feel in my lungs.
Last Alcoholic Drink: About an hour ago. Third Sam Adams. It's Friday.
Last Car Ride: Took a cab home tonight.
Last Kiss: The aforementioned Tony (?), 1987. Not much of a social butterfly.
Last Good Cry: Thanksgiving. I couldn't make it to my cousins' for the holiday, and they couldn't invite me anyway.
Last Library Book checked out: The Crystal City, by Orson Scott Card
Last Movie Seen in Theaters: The Passion of the Christ
Last Book Read Fully read: So You Want To Be A Wizard, by Diane Duane
Last Movie Rented: I don't rent much. I think the last one was Fellowship of the Ring [sic], just before the second Jackson move came out.
Last Bad Word: "Fucking," as in "That woman is fucking unstable."
Last Beverage Drunk: Sam Adams lager
Last Food Consumed: Wince. I'll have to admit this at fanweight later, but... strawberry shortcake.
Last Crush: Hayden Christensen, of all crushes. Last real life crush? Lord, I barely remember. Probably Marty or Stu, as an undergrad. I haven't bothered since. And both of those are fossils; not a spark of life. It would be fun to have a real life crush again.
Last Phone Call: My mother, on Sunday.
Last TV Show Watched: Angel, on Wednesday night. I think I watched L&O afterward, but I wasn't paying attention, so it doesn't count.
Last Time Showered: This morning.
Last Shoes Worn: Ballet style flats.
Last CD Played: Harry and the Potters
Last Item Bought: Jump rope. No, not kidding.
Last Download: A picture of a girl in torn jeans to use in a fic cover for TFN. (The beggar's legs.)
Last Annoyance: Being told to never express disagreement with a newbie employee in public.
Last Disappointment: With self, for being unable to stick to a diet for a whole bloody week!
Last Soda Drank: Diet Coke
Last Thing Written: Three paragraphs of the sequel to "The Doll Army," written while I was eating the shortcake tonight.
Last Key Used: Front door.
Last Word Spoken: Okay.
Last Sleep: 2:20 am to 7:30 am
Last Sexual Fantasy: That's a bit personal! It involved Remus Lupin, and that's as far as I'll go.
Last Ice Cream Eaten: Vanilla, with apple crisp, earlier this week
Last Time Amused: At Jonah Goldberg's column in NRO today, when he said he hated the federal deficit... because it makes for boring columns.
Last Time Wanting To Die: Wednesday.
Last Time In Love: I don't think I've ever been in love. Maybe with Marty, 1989-1991, but that was one-sided, so no-go.
Last Time Hugged: Mom, late December.
Last Chair Sat In: Other than the one I'm sitting in, a bus seat, single, on the left side.
Last Web page Visited: Other than LJ, the Sugarquill forums.

I feel a bit...: lonely lonely

Don't wince! Technically (were I to base my answer on my 45 collection), my first album would be 'Crazy for You,' or Jack Wagner's 'All I need.'

Ah... Sam Adams. I'm indulging in a little Friday night relaxation too. Cheers Fern!

I wish it had been my first record altogether. That, I remember quite clearly. "Fame," by Irene Cara, the single. I was so proud of myself for buying my own copy of my own favorite song, and I still think of it fondly...

Last Time Virtually Hugged: 8:50pm by JiminyC

(Sorry...but to an extremely huggy person like myself, that line of your meme translated to "last full meal eaten: December". Had to do something - they don't call me 'Everybody's Mom' around here for nothing!) :)

First real kiss: Sorry to say it, but it was a random guy the week before my seventeenth birthday, because I swore I would be kissed while I was still sixteen.

Well, if it makes you feel better, my first kiss (and as yet only) was part of a truth or dare game on my class trip to Germany (the guy's dare). Even then, I panicked when I saw what he was doing and turned away, and he got a kiss full of hair.

Last Kiss: The aforementioned Tony (?), 1987. Not much of a social butterfly.

Your love life is about as active as mine. ;) I'm not exactly a social butterfly either.

First piercing/tattoo: Ears. My mother froze my earlobes and pierced them with a sewing needle. One of them thawed partway through and had to be refrozen.

Eeee!! My mother had the same thing done when she was younger - to this day she still has the scars, and I don't think she ever truly got her ears pierced. ;)

I'm with Ladyaeryn - I'm another less-than-epic first kiss. It took place at a high school get-together. Two guys were there (I didn't know it at the time, but in retrospect they were a couple, which makes this story a little strange) and I think they were a bit sloshed, because one of them asked me to dance and then gave me a surprise sloppy kiss in the middle of it. To add to the fun, this happened in the line of sight of the guy on whom I had a wretched crush. I was horribly embarrassed.

It didn't turn out like a "Seventeen" anecdote, though - I don't think my crushee really noticed one way or the other, and the kisser apologized the next day. And I went off to college and married someone else :).
