Shifts, note
Okay, this was a Shifts segment night, but it wasn't working well at all, so I erased it and definitely need to get some sleep at some point. Grr, I hate "Time passed" sorts of things. Maybe I'll just pick up with, "Two weeks later..." I do not know enough about teaching (even here, where I know about being on the receiving end of teaching, let alone elsewhere) to actually report on matters like writing tests and reporting grades to people. And since it was all incidental to the actual story--total space-filler--I just pitched it.

Re-reading, I noted that I gave Blythe two first names. Since the second was "Gil," making him Gilbert Blythe, and making me think of Anne of Green Gables, I'm hereby announcing that his first first name, "Roger," is his actual first name. This will be fixed when I re-do the "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" chapter for SQ.

So, Wednesday's Shifts segment will have to make a special guest appearance on Thursday.

Meanwhile, at Hogwarts, Harry is making the acquaintance of thestrals. I don't think Remus can compete with that at Smeltings.

Well, if the thestrals represent awareness of death and its implications, is there any other way you could have this demonstrated to the kids at Smeltings? It doesn't necessarily have to be directly through Remus.

Just an idea.

A couple of days late now, but I just wanted to say how much I loved your Cho challenge fic. After all the misery in OoTP, it was great to see things from her point of view for once.

Oh, good idea. Not sure how to work it, but it seems like a good theme. That'll be two chapters in a row that end up coming from someone's suggestion (I was going to have them playing charades in the last chapter until the murder game suggestion came along).
