I don't usually do "I want..." kinds of things. But, er... I don't have a good excuse. I'm just a sheep. ;)

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call."

I'm going to stick to things that aren't physical world delivery sorts of things.

1. Any illo of any of my stories. Honestly. I'm as interested in what seems to jump out as illustratable as I am in any particular scene.

2. My very own Remus. :)

3. The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library open in 2005.

4. Comments on my Harry Potter or Star Wars stories. Or the Tolkien ones, if you have a tolerance for Frodomances. Or want to spork them, whichever. (The Jewel of Brandy Hall and its prequel, The Girl Who Aimed Straight.)

5. Links to good online lit-crit of Harry Potter.

6. Links to any artwork done of Ted Tonks.

7. Links to good original artwork of Anakin and/or Padmé, not drawn from existing scenes and photos (new scenarios or more abstract concept art).

8. An illo of the photo in Shifts that bothers Remus so much.

9. Some art talent of my very own so I don't have to beg it off of other people anymore. ;P

10. To end on a serious note and take a page from saeva's book by mentioning a charity--this past month, an old friend of my mother's, who was my regular babysitter when I was a small child, died after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Any donations to the Diabetes Foundation (http://www.diabetes.org) in Gail's memory would be welcome.

Made a very small donation ~ I figured if I can spend $5 on chinese takeout, I can afford the same for a good cause. :~)

I'm really enjoying reading the wishlists that are appearing in the journals, people seem to be having a lot of fun with them. And it's bringing out the anthropologist in me. I'm getting curious just how many lists I'll see, and how many wishes are granted, in a community that is really made up of mostly anonymous people who've never met face to face. It's intriguing!

I don't know if you've seen it yet, but there is a Master List up, and also the community holiday_wishes :)

A co worker of mine is sending a donation. He just lost his mother to Diabetes. <3

Apparently your wish is my command :P

I got inspired by your list, and I think this fits both 1 and 6. It's not really a scene illo, though, so much as just a character sketch... and I can't really bost any particular artistic talent myself. (My art class-taking friends are always on my case about my somewhat... unorthodox method of drawing people. But then again, I never do things the orthodox way if I can help it ;)

Anywho, a quick sketch of what Ted Tonks looked like in my imagination, when he first wandered on the scene in "Of A Sort." (He's singing "Help" and half-conducting, half-dancing if you were wondering what he's supposed to be doing. *g*)

I don't know what you mean exactly with artwork, but I have some Padmé/Anakin artwork on my site. Maybe there is anything for you. ;)

Ted Tonks Art

Hello,

I have just drawn a quick sketch of Ted Tonks from your 'Of a Sort' series, this is from the "it begins 2" chapter, when Ted and the M.U.D.S. group save the little first years from Snape and the other Slytherins - the one you requested on the Quill.

I'm actually a bit peeved off with this drawing, it just doesn't have that 'Ted' quality about him... I tried to make him look a bit angry, but he doesn't seem to be the Ted that I picture whilst reading your brilliant fics. I did try to give him the whole hippy look and the beatles 'do, which I wasn't sure if he still had at this stage.

Hope you like it - consider this a thank you for all your wonderful writing, especially Shifts. You are an amazing writer, and I am sure, a very lovely person. :)

~ Sophie
