PHEW!
Sat down, mapped out Shifts. JKR's spring shedule is very choppy, and skips huge chunks of months. Everything just speeds right up after spending three chapters or so on Harry's first week back and Hogwarts!

I think most of the threads will come together, though not all at the same time, and some may fall away in favor of others for certain periods of time. I'm going to try and write more frequently, see how much I can get before the next random update day. You never know when she'll say something that undermines the whole thing and leaves me floundering. ;) Better to have it done, right?

I feel a bit...: accomplished accomplished

Heh, I got nailed today. Thankfully it's only a very small point, but one of her decrees went right against something I've done...

So, do I go back and "fix" the scene, or wait for the reviews to start "pointing out" my error.

If it's still at a fixable place, I'd go for the retconning. If it's something you've developed? I dunno. You're talking to the chick who walked away from Blood in the Earth because she realized she was off on the founding of Hogwarts by a hundred years or so.

*Raises hand*

I have a question. I've been following "Shifts" at the Quill, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm wondering what the difference is between the chapters you post here and the chapters you post there. (I'm asking because the chapters aren't going up at the Quill fast enough for me!)

Re: *Raises hand*

The ones that go up on my LJ are rough--I write them straight in. The ones at Humongous Bighead, I've mostly spellchecked, and fixed egregious problems. The Quill has the cleanest copy, and I'm fixing little continuity problems as I go. :)
