A few memes
I joined the hp100 drabble community. Me... the girl who spent well over a year writing a long and rambling epic about post-Jedi Anakin coming back to life, and thinks a short story is fifty pages or so. Writing hundred-word stories. It's a challenge. It's kind of fun.

Anyway, nothing much to say. Just some memes.

Since I mentioned it, I'll push the epic length fic today.

The Penitent is a group story, written over the course of about a year and a half, that deals with Anakin Skywalker coming back from the dead. He finds a clone of his young self that was once meant to be his last temptation to the Dark Side. Luke convinces him to take it, and he returns to Naboo (where Amidala has returned to her position as queen, via another story of mine). His nice chance at a peaceful life (if a frustrating one, as the clone is a child but his mind is an adult's) is taken when an honorable Imperial officer, Kyrys Tashin, tries to take the blame for one of Vader's crimes, forcing him to come forward... and be tried for all of his crimes. The judge? Leia.

(This story consumed my fanfic life for quite awhile, and alludes to quite a few others I wrote.)

Me? An Adaptive Assertive? Well, never mind...

'The Penitent' is the first Star Wars story of its size that I have ever read, and has made me interested in dividing my attention from the Harry Potter fandom to Star Wars. Could I please have a link to the story about Amidala's reinstatement as Queen? I seem to not be able to find it. It [The Penitent] is one of the few storys which I have not been able to stop myself reading in one [eight-hour in this case] session.

Sure!

That's First Encounters, over at DragonLibrary.

Thanks. Is this what you might call a short story of yours? Anyway, it makes sense, and ties down the ends I was wondering about.

Glad you liked it.

Yeah, that's my concept of a short story. A longish short, but definitely not up in novella territory.

EEK! ;)

I'm looking forward to your drabbles, but I think Hufflepuff just fell further behind. (I've got to start writing more diligently. Only I'm completely failing to think of any really good Polyjuice twists.... Grr.)

01 | How to use a spinning wheel and weave

I see my life's ambition there. I'm obsessively driven to pursue it and I must learn how or go mad dreaming about looms for the rest of my life.

I've been meaning to read 'The Penitent' for ages now. This is a needed nudge. I'd had my cat 'Runa' for a few months last year when I peeked at it and saw straightaway the system 'Runa'. She was actually named for the Icelandic spin on rhune, but I decided then that I was 'meant' to read it.

Of course, maybe you wonder every time I go on about my cat; "did Ivy name her after my star system?"

Shoot! That's probably more fun...
