Blech. Just got back from the dentist. Deep cleaning. Iron hooks under the gums. It sounds like medieval torture, and honestly, if it were, I'd probably have talked. (Well, at least if it hadn't been for the Novacaine. Which for some reason doesn't work well on my front teeth, so I got about a half-blast up there. Of course, two hours after the actual procedure, that's kicking in full blast.)

But it's done. I must say, I'm extremely lucky. I took lousy care of my teeth, and all they needed was one filling and an excrutiating cleaning. I am going to take better care now. Really. As soon as I can feel my mouth again.

How eerie. I went to the dentist today too. I need a crown replacement, so today they removed the old one and fitted me with a temporary.

I have dental insurance, but even so, I'll have to cough up half for the crown. And crowns don't come cheap. I suppose anything made out of porcelain and gold wouldn't come cheap.

I've always taken good care of my teeth, but still, I started to get cavities galore in my teens, due to the deep grooves in my molars. It's genetic; my mom has them too. She took my sister and I in to have our teeth sealed when we were little but the seals wore off -- hence the cavities.

I hate cleanings, got a few teeth that have almost grown together up at the crowns, not really merged but just real tight. Nothing like seeing the tech almost standing on you to get enough leverage/pressure to get the floss through.

I have found, in my maturity, that a good gargle with hydrogen peroxide (which is tasteless and bubbles) cleans out the crevices best. Also turns plaque into a polishing type substance.

hi, I'm your new buddy helgaleena-slash, who loves your Slither.
