Ouch...
Sunday, I bent my thumb back draining a pot. My wrist has hurt progressively more since. I'm starting to think I might have to get it some kind of medical attention. Because, ouch. Constant ouch. Including from typing.

Problem? It's my smart hand. I can't live without my smart hand. Typing with just my left hand (which I'm doing right now for practice, just in case), is slow and awkward. Mousing around is too rad to bother practicing.

That sounds like it could be a ligament strain. I caught my fingers on a bannister once and bent them right back and my wrist was sore for days afterwards. Best I can suggest is strap it up and try putting some pain relief cream on it (I'd suggest brands but I'm not sure you have the same ones in the US). If it doesn't go off, I'd see a doctor. :/

Ouch! I would go see a doctor, if its hurting as bad as you claim.

Doctor would be good, and have you done the RICE procedure for it? (RICE = Rest, Ice, Elevation). Ice is the most-recommended treatment for injuries like that. Use for 10 minutes or until the area goes numb. Good instructions on the web for ice therapy.

Hope it feels better soon.

Called the doctor a couple of minutes ago. Icing has been lovely. Resting my right hand is my definition of hell. ;)

My husband, a pediatrician, hurt a ligament almost 2 weeks ago in his arm. His treatment to avoid a doctors' appointment: ibuprofen. He takes the maximim dose. Do this for a few days to see if helps with the inflamation. But yeah, if it doesn't go away, the best thing is to see the professionals.

(Yes, I'm the worst lurker, I check out your journal every so often for HP related posts ever since I found Shifts by the way of your Bighead Site. I really enjoy your rants and your fiction. I thought I'd try to help with the "I'm a doctor's wife, let me help." I really don't know anything besides the ibuprofen, but it doesn't hurt to try it for up 10 days.)
