Appreciating the Lex
I depended entirely on the HP Lexicon's timelines when I figured out the plot of Shifts, finding mirroring images and so on between what was happening to Harry in canon and what was happening to Remus in Shifts.

Playing around with a possible HBP sequel, oddly, the Lex hasn't had time to come up with a timeline yet, thereby leaving me to do it myself.

Aaagh!

This is hard work. Will put the fruits up later, but ouch. So much appreciation to the people who did it for the last five books! Thank you!

Oh, and because I'm a Remus writer and working on a Remus plot, I'm doing the full moons. In 1996, Remus gets points for showing up for Harry's birthday the day after a full moon. And he gets severe carelessness points for showing up on Christmas Eve which is a full moon night. :headdesk: I think I just have to move the moon.

Typing in what I've found for corrections later.

He just missed his Dora that much. ;)

Clearly...uh...the moon hadn't risen yet. Yes. He was going to go somewhere safe as soon as the moon rose.

And I must express my admiration at your perseverance. I will probably end up waiting for a Lexicon timeline to make sure my fic goes right - but then, I'm a hoarder, not a nice generous author who posts as she goes like you.

Well, we all knew that the calendar in the books has never *quite* been the calender in real life. Sept 1 on a Sunday every year, etc. Gives it a sort of "seperate world" quality. Or indicates that Jo has trouble with math ;)

Yeah, I opt for the second. ;)

Agreed. This isn't the first time she's messed up the moons too, if I remember correctly. ;-)

I was stunned... September 2 really was a Monday in 1996!

I broke my back researching that the Rose Moon in 1994 actually fell on June 9th, not June 6th.
