Final confrontation date
Anyway, I'm still working on the timeline, and I've got it pretty much down to the last Quidditch match, but I can't place exactly how long after that, the "I gave you permission..." conversation is, nor can I figure out--much more importantly--when the final confrontation is. It's June, because Harry notes that they're passing into June and Ginny is studying for her OWLs, but I haven't found anything to nail it down except that it's neither June 20th, since it's definitively not a full moon, nor the 5th, since the new moon wouldn't provide the moonlight Harry sees reflected in the sea. I'd wager the moon is waxing rather than waning, just because it doesn't sound like the school's in the middle of giving OWL exams (as they would be after June 20), but that's not saying much.

Has anyone spotted anything that resembles a clue? Or on which day of the week Harry cast Sectusempra on Draco?

I don't have my book at hand, but as memory serves, but I seem to recall that about the time of the funeral, it says that any other year, they'd be relaxing, as Ginny would have finished her exams... that said, that puts it around the latter part of the period... the confrontation 7-10 days before the scheduled end.

This has Nothing Whatsoever to do with what you're asking (sorry), but as your Inner Illo Monster was snuffling around so very eagerly earlier, you can have this Progress Report (I have no idea how big it'll be when I hit post, if it's huge I apologise):

...other reasons for showing you the sketch include: motivation to actually finish it now that you've seen the scribble version, and ensuring that if I manage to screw it up while colouring you'll have seen sort of what I intended it to be. Oh, and also I'm bored. The fact that she looks twelve instead of seventeen has not excaped my notice, but I'm otherwise so thrilled with how it looks at the moment that I'm not going to try and change it. If I manage to do a halfway decent colouring job, I'm going to be so happy.

Okay, bedtime. :)

Oh, I love it! And I do picture her as looking younger than her age from time to time.

And I must express love for the striped socks. I don't know why, but they totally delight me. And her smile is great. This is a terrific sketch, Leith.

Tee hee... I'm always delighted when I get to include striped socks. :) And I've just come from the third part of the MN/TLC interview, which I'm actually not quite finished reading, but I stopped and waved my hands about excitedly for thirty seconds when I got to the part about Lupin really being very fond of Lily and then dashed right over here to say "FERN!! FERN!! YOU WERE RIGHT, EEEEEEEEE!!" and now I'm going back to finish reading.

(PS, I was lying about bedtime, and thank you for the compliment. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy.)

That is totally the cutest thing ever.

(Also, I love Demelza's name, too.)
