Fanfic year in review
Adapted from ani_bester

Some short stuff. All of these are LJ fics.

favorite story this year (of my own, not including Shades):
Kind of off-beat, but I like Marauders of the Round Table best.

my best story this year:
This wasn't a big, memorable year for stories. There's no "Doll Army" or "Father's Heart" in the mix. I think I've been obsessed with Regulus this year, and even though it's partly obsoleted by HBP--we know Reg wandered for a few days and picked something up on his way out--I think I'm proudest of Limits, both for Regulus and Peter.

most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
The Only Child--based on art by fiendling! And very few comments (or, as far as I know, readers). I shall never recover!

most fun story:
Talking Lessons, where young adult Marauders try to teach baby Harry to say "Dada." I love making guys do goofy things to entertain babies.

sexiest story:
The only vaguely sexy thing I've done this year is Shades, and it hasn't hit its sexier parts yet.

"holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Hmm. Can't think of one of those. Unless you count a very weird meme where I figured out how Draco and Tonks could end up sleeping together, but I didn't actually write that one. (Felt creepy enough about it that I wrote a genfic for her to make it up to her...)

story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Vanished Blood--I wasn't sure what I was doing with Tonks for her the HBP year, and the fic started out as mainly Tonks/Remus, with her pining around, but as it came out, I started to really look at her as someone whose family has been destroyed, and who is suddenly completely alone for the first time.

hardest story to do:
Albus Dumbledore and the Philsopher's Stone. This took me forever. I'd been picking at it for months before I posted it. Dumbledore is very hard to write. (Of course, the latest chapter of "Of A Sort" took longer, but that was because I made a lot of mistakes, not because it was hard to write.)

biggest disappointment:
Into the Mists and The Shape of Things. I started ficcing HBP too soon. It hadn't settled in yet.

biggest surprise:
Little Bits of Junk
I wasn't expecting a fic written for ithurtsmybrain to actually, well, work. Obviously, my version of the Riddles got completely obsoleted by HBP, but I still like the way HP mixed with Raiders of the Lost Ark, and think Marion Ravenwood came out pretty neat and interacted well with Neville. Which I was really not expecting at all.

most telling story:
Friends--the Lupin birthday fic. He does very much what I do: sits around being lonely and thinking about his old friends while wondering why he's so lonely, instead of going and hanging around with his new friends. And I believe my old friends would be first in line to thwap me over the head for it. Repeatedly. (I renamed that one "Staff Room" on HB.)

A story I want remembered
The Circle. I like that notion of Sirius's arrival at James's place.

I really love the Tonks genfic you wrote with her in Snape's potions class. That one was one I really liked also.

Hope your new year is awesome!

Just wanted to say hi - </a></b></a>ashtur pointed me your way, so I've friended...

I've just discovered HP, and I think I'm going to like your stuff. Plus, we INTJs have to stick together - or isolate collectively, as the case may be... :P

Hmmm. I think that some of the sexier parts of Shifts came betwween 1 January 2005 and when the story ended in February, didn't they?
