Animals!
I went for a walk with my camera today, hoping to catch some spring animals. (I was actually hoping for a chipmunk, but no dice today.) It's hard to take pictures of wild animals; they don't stop and pose very often. ;)

Anyway, want to go for a walk around and see some critters? Pic heavy under the cut.

Duck--casual:

And here's another, flying away from me. Not a clear shot, but I kind of like the motion:

Little birdies:

And a crow and a squirrel:

Just some views of the area:

(This last is my favorite color combination, which is good for me, since it's the most common landscape in Boston.)

And of course, no wildlife sharing would be complete without a picture of the majestic and savage Jelly Roll Mousebane:

Fun! I have lots of shots of Boston in winter but virtually none of spring. My favorite time was probably late April, when the magnolia trees on Bay State Avenue all suddenly burst into bloom; it was almost comically gorgeous.

dumb

Bay State ROAD, obviously. My fingers and brain aren't in touch.

Oh, yeah, spring is great. I love the Commonwealth Mall in the spring, with little flower petals blowing around.

Yay! The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, wasn't it? I wasn't even bothered by the rain; it had that wonderful fresh smell to it. I like New England winters and all, but at the end of it I'm just feeling so stale. There's something about warm air and singing birds that makes me feel like I've been reborn. I guess it also makes me gushy and babbly. ;)

The birds were so loud today! I was surprised they weren't lining every telephone wire. It's been great two days in a row. I must make a point of walking in new places more often.

Oh, me too. The world would be so lonely if it were just us!

There just aren't enough things that particular shade of green in the world. It really is pretty.

As a New Englander who's been recently transplanted to St. Louis, I thank you very much for the pictures of home!

Great pictures! I love the birds, they're just so interesting to watch. My grandparents have a birdfeeder right outside their kitchen window, and that's their morning entertainment.

(For posing wildlife, you have to go underwater. There really are fish that will come up to the camera and turn this way and that.)

My grandparents live in Boston, but I don't think I've ever been there in the spring, because school always gets in the way, you know ... We've only ever visited them in the summer or the winter, which is a shame, because I've heard New England autumns are legendary. At any rate, these pictures are great! :)

First time I've seen a BLACK crow - ours are grey, with black heads, wings and a black splotch on the chest! ;-)

And the cat was of course just gorgeous!!!!!!!
