4/17 poem rec, plus, ouch
Someday, I'm going to set off to take one of my brief walks, and end up in Vermont, wondering how the heck I got there. I meant to go take some pictures of the marathon, then zip back home, but I ended up following the course for the last four or five miles. I think I may have gotten pictures of the winners when they first appeared, but I'm not sure. I'll have to check the numbers. I don't know if anyone is waiting in suspense to watch their tapes, so I'll download pics first.

For the poem rec, I'll be utterly dreary and go with Annabel Lee, which is a pretty good poem that everyone knows, and was the first one I ever memorized beginning to end. A bit on the sentimental side, but oh, well.

I remember my impression the first time I read the poem. "Hmm...nice, but very fluffy....wait a second! He's sleeping on her grave?! Eww...." ;) Poe was just a little weird, if you ask me. But the poem sounds pretty, anyway.

As for getting worn out from the events of today, well, we got up at 4:00 to watch the reenactment in Lexington, and while it was very cool and probably worth the wait, I was desperately wanting to sit down afterwards, and wishing someone else could hold the baby for a while. I don't expect it's something we'll do every year, unless we can acquire a nice comfy ladder.
