Weird work schedule today. My break ran into an early lunch, which was my breakfast. Unhealthily, I decided to try the new Krispy Kreme. I was less than impressed. Too sweet, not much on the variety, and... well, average. I think I'll stick to Dunkie's when I need my sugar-fix. I can also get a breakfast sandwich there and have something with some redeeming nutritional value.

Break combined with lunch combined with no need for extensive eating gave me a huge break. I got my hair trimmed and washed. I do enjoy having other people mess with my hair. And I love hairdressers who hear, "Take off an inch" and actually take off an inch. Without arguing. Heck, I even asked about something more complicated (I'm considering Jennifer Aniston current-style bangs) and she kind of shook her head and reminded me that cutting any part of my hair was a big decision that shouldn't be made while I was just "thinking about it." And I'm thinking, the front part of my hair grows so fast that it might be pretty stupid to do bangs again. I had them cut in April of 2000. The rest of my hair was cut to my shoulders in February of 1999. It's all the same length now (small of my back). Anyway, I do enjoy the moments after a trim. My nice blunt ends, all sitting evenly, until it air dries and the start curling. Not a lot, but enough that I'll never have that "blunt cut" look. That's okay. I also enjoy that "I have really healthy hair" look. (Sorry. Today's sin is vanity, folks. Hair's all shiny and soft, too.)

At any rate, temporary victory over frizzy split ends, and I won't have to a later showing of Van Helsing to get it done after work.

Krispy Kreme is ordinary stuff around here. I never understood the excitement in the North about it. Breezy said that when KK came to Seattle, there was a line around the block for it. It's a sin to say this around here, but I'm not crazy about them either, at least not the glazed kind--give me a creme-filled one or I'll go to Dunkin Donuts. My husband can eat Krispy Kreme glazed by the dozen though--they're just sugar and air, and way too sweet for me.

I heard that Krispy Kreme is some sort of delicacy in New York City..."a love affair between the pastry and the croissant" or something like that. I had to laugh. It's a doughnut, people.

Their coffee is the bomb though, if you ever end up going back there.
