Goonies Never Say Die

This sounds like the most nebulous sequel talk ever. Animated! No! Their kids! Er... animated about their kids! ;p And of course, talk of a sequel has surfaced every couple of years since forever.

But I would so adore it.

Why won't anyone let good things just stay good things? :(

A cartoon wouldn't fit though, since the original wasn't.

A sequel in general...would either be great or a total flop. I think the problem with a cartoon would be that the people who'd even know who the Goonies are would be too old to watch it, and the kids would probably not get it. They have their own Goonies type of things now, I believe. I mean, even I hadn't heard of The Goonies untl we watched it in a class for nostalgia. (I was born in '85, so it's a bit weird with me - I was too young for a lot of the 80's sensation stuff, if I'd been born when it was out at all.)

ATA (Adding to Add, since comments don't have an ETA option): A quick Wikipedia search shows me that The Goonies came out the same year I was born. Now, unless my Mom was nutty enough to take an infant into a movie theaer... ;) (Especially when my Mom hates movies. Don't ask, I have a unique family. I was raised to like some rented movies, some tv shows, and mostly computer games and books. Which, really, is how I plan on raising MY kid(s) if I have any...)

I would love to see that. I wonder how many times I've actually seen Goonies. It must have been over a dozen. on VHS, baby. That and Adventures in Babysitting. Good times.

Nostalgia aside, the animated character design looked good. Sloth love Chunk, you know.
