Movie meme
Nicked from moonlitwoods

A. Pick 5 of your favorite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D. Have those on your friends list try to guess what the movie is.
E. Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified and place the guesser's user name directly after the quote.

I'm not so much picking favorites as "movies I like and can think of really random quotes from."

Whoa, done! That was fast. I shall pick harder movies next time.

If anyone likes the movies, feel free to talk about them!

1. "It's spooky sleeping out in the woods at night. We might see a bear. Or a garbage can." (Stand By Me) chienar
2. "Listen buddy, if you're looking for the diet frozen-yogurt bar, it went out of business last summer." (The Lost Boys) st_aurafina
3. Man: "Proposition--it is better to be alive than dead."
Woman: "Mm, far better, yes."
(Camelot) lareinenoire
4. Woman: "I don't argue. I never argue. When do I argue? I might have a heated discussion with somebody..."
Man: "Is this you not arguing? Because you suck at it."
(Miss Congeniality) gabrielladusult
5. "Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power." (The Neverending Story) rotae

3. Camelot. I adored that film growing up.
5. This is so familiar but I can't place it. Which is probably at least part of the point.

Yup, on three. I love that whole conversation, with Jenny being so dry and slightly sarcastic, too.

Four is Miss Congeniality, which I only got because it has been airing quite a lot on cable recently and I can't resist watching at least a part of it every time I channel surf.

2 is Lost Boys! I loved that movie so much. And the soundtrack.

Thou shall not fall! Thou shall not die! ;p

My friend was convinced she was a vampire for the longest time.

1. Stand by Me

but no goonies quote... what's the marathon without it? (as long as no one forgot the ginger ale and m&m's)

I figured giving you one completely free was enough. I took out the Lucas quote. ;p

lucas played on cable recently too....

along with my running into the lost boys playing late night one night.

but I've not caught the goonies lately, might have to rebuy the dvd and force the boy to watch it with me.

:grumbles:

I missed a chance to re-tape Lucas? Sigh.

it was on one of the hbo channels...

we've really awful cable overall, so I spend time flipping - and stopped when I saw 2.5 seconds of it.

I think that number one is from a Robin Williams movie - a fantasy movie, but I'm pulling a blank on the name. I think he and someone else are lying in the grass looking at the sky and Robin William's character says the line but darned if I can remember the name of the movie.

The Fisher King (I love www.imdb.com)

Nope. Would be funny if another movie used the same oddball line, though!

LOL I didn't get here in time! I think maybe the meme needs to be for more than five movies...

Yes! Honestly, that's from such a big scene in the movie, I figured it would be guessed first!

Ah! Neat. Too bad I was late reading them. I knew number 4 before I looked at the answer. Oh, well. I'll put his on mine, when I can figure out some good quotes that aren't terribly obvious.

I meant "this" obviously, not "his". Man, I am so bad at typing lately.
