Quick book question
A three year old was looking for a book today. She remembers that there were three boys, they heard a sound, they looked around (including climbing a ladder), and finally found an owl. Repeated searching of all the usual suspects netted nothing. On an off chance... does this ring a bell with anyone?

For some reason, I'm thinking of "Clue of the Screeching Owl" and "Owls in the Family," which are both chapter books (which I haven't read in so long I'm not sure if they match) and don't seem like something a three year old would know.

Book search

Sounds a bit like "Bears in the Night" from the Berenstain (sp) Bears bright and early collection. It was a favorite of my kids around that age. It's 7 bears, I think, but as a three year old everything tends to be three.

Good luck.

Re: Book search

YES!!! We have it right here. A little girl will be very happy. If she'd said "bears," we might have guessed, but, well, to a small fry, I guess seven little bears came out to "three twin boys"!

Thank you so much!

Re: Book search

Glad I could help! Sometimes the sleep-deprived brain of a mom can find things. Mostly, I think it's because we don't get enough sleep to look for logical answers. Three boys equals seven bears...of course!

Re: Book search

Perfectly logical (I think) - boys and bears start with the same letter, don't they?! And obviously the key point is that they climbed a ladder and found an owl ...

Re: Book search

OMG. That was one of my most favourite books as a child. Oh the memories!
