Starting...

Okay, it's 1:30 in the morning and I had to re-think my opening several times, and I'm still not sure of it, but it's NaNo, not the National Book Award. I will keep chugging. :)

You mean we don't get to read it as you go along ...

( Only if you want us to of course ).

Nah. Always smarter not to make original fic publicly accessible. Though it's much harder without checking in for comments! :)

Okay, I'm sure that there beginning is fine and you can always change it later when you arn't trying to reach the big 50,000, but I do have to say that I adore your progress bean. Much better than the simple tallies I've seen elsewhere.

Writertopia does both, and I'll probably save the bean for special occasions (so it doesn't get old), but I thought it was cute. :)

Any hints on the storyline? Is it your own creation, or does it borrow from another universe? Good luck!

It's mine. There will be werewolves, though it's hard to tell that from the opening.

Not all of us are Margaret Mitchell or Harper Lee.* Our first books won't win awards.

*We know you have a sekkkrit connection with JKR.

Well, 2000+ words sounds like a great start to me. Best wishes for continued diligence. I have no doubts that you're on the road to success!

I wish you all the luck in the world with this new endeavor of yours. I also wish you endless hours of not having writer's block. (I would also like to give you some Native American, First Nations and/or Celtic blessings for clarity and peace of mind, but all I can find are drinking toasts, and I don't that that'd get you anywhere. *sigh*)

I don't know... drinking toasts seemed to get Hemingway quite a distance. ;p
