In Plain Sight season finale=awesome.

I have to give Fred Weller props for a terrific performance. He generally plays Marshall very tightly, which is right for the character and his situation, but in this, he loses it, and he does it very well--like a guy who's not used to losing it actually loses it. (Interesting juxtaposition in an episode that really showed a mismatch between Mary and Raph--I like both of them, but they drive each other--and me--crazy. As opposed to Elliot's wife in SVU, who I don't like at all and she drives me crazy... I mean, come on, how long have you been married to a cop, and you're still getting angsty about how he just doesn't pay enough attention to you? You know this going in. Stop freakin' whining. Er, sidetrack.)

Generally, IPS is on that list of shows that I'm vaguely fond of, and watch for external reasons, in this case, that it's shot in Albuquerque, and I know most of their exterior locations. I also have a fondness for WITSEC stories, and find it high time that there was a WITSEC series on TV. But mostly, it's, "Oh, yeah, time for IPS, good, I almost forgot, but hey..."

I won't be forgetting to watch for new season next spring.

At least I hope not. Almost a year between seasons gives a whole lot of time for interest to wane. (Says the chick who's spending a couple of weeks between segments of a fic and seeing interest flag.) Whatever happened to a season on TV, September premiere, May finale, with ratings peaks in November and February, and a little teeny two month rest before the next season? Next spring????? Are they nuts?

Ooh, it hasn't been on here yet, although it starts in about 15 minutes. I really enjoy IPS. About the seasons, yeah. It's on USA so they are completely messed up. I so completely agree with you. Glad to know it was a good one. I'll definitely watch it first thing in the morning.

I like IPS too, but I do not ship Marshall/Mary. It's all wrong for me.

I like Ralph, but he and Mary are all wrong too.

I love In Plain Sight, and the season finally was definitely awesome! I agree about Fred Weller's performance--he really is brilliant in that role and completely proved it last night.

As far as the seasons go, my husband and I like having new things to watch when everything else is in reruns, although it is hard to wait so long for the next season. At least there will be a next season, though . . . ;)

I don't really think Mary and Raph make a good couple (although I do like both characters), but I don't ship Mary/ Marshall either. I'm not sure Mary is comfortable enough in her own skin to really have a good relationship with anyone, yet.

And for a random topic change--I aslo totally agree with you about Elliot's wife on SVU.

I probably enjoy IPS more than you do, largely because I enjoy Mary and Marshall, especially Marshall. He's witty, smart, reserved and whimsical, and a total goofball. And the actor makes all that happen. Heck, I even like all the other characters. Being filmed in Albuquerque adds a verisimilitude that I think is missing from lots of shows set in NY or LA, and oddly, adds an air of exoticism, even for me living in Denver and visiting ABQ at least yearly. It's a different scene and the show is actually somewhat rooted in that location. It would be different if it was set somewhere else. I like that.

Somehow I knew as the episode developed that we'd end on a cliffhanger, and sure enough, that's what happened. I can't say I was thrilled with it, but I understand it. Don't worry, though, they'll give you lots of ways to reacquaint yourself before the new season starts -- whether you want to or not!

Oh yeah--lots of Marshall love here. Definitely the kind of guy I like best in the world.

(Don't know how I missed this post.)

IPS is one of the handful of shows I must keep up with. Was this the ep with the bad neighborhood? Because yeah, I loved Marshall in this. I mean, I just generally love Marshall, but he was really great in this. And it really is painfully obvious that Mary and Raph is a terrible match. Their relationship seems to be entirely based on sex. Whereas her relationship with Marshall is... well, entirely different. I'm not saying I'd entirely be for shipping them, but I'd almost rather the show dance around that ship rather than having Mary be with Raph, especially since it's equally obvious that Raph would be happier with Brandy.
