Sheepage - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
Gakked from pretty much everyone on my f-list:

1. Comment to this entry with a post you think would be totally out of character for me--something I'd never talk about, never discuss, never say, anything. It has to be completely out of character.

2. Post this in your own journal.

"Literacy is over-rated. People read too many books."

"I just had the best time watching the whole Jackson LotR trilogy back to back. Gosh, he did such a GREAT job with that, I still can't believe it! I mean, all the important parts are there. He even fixed some of Tolkien's mistakes!

I'm in such a good mood I think I'll go write some Remus/Sirius smut. OMGTHEIRLOVEISSOCANON!"

"what the hell is wrong with taking newsmedia at face value? I mean they're all fair and balanced, right?"

Gah! Fanfiction is derivitive and shallow. If you aren't writing something that is original, there isn't any reason to consider yourself a writer!

George Lucas stole my childhood and I hate him forever and ever.

"Between writing sex and violence, I can't see taking the time to write anything else."

"Characterization is SO unimportant in writing. What really matters is who gets to make out with who...and how much we get to hear about it. If a story doesn't have a lot of heavy romance in it, there's just no point reading it.

Oh, and now that I read OotP again, I guess Ted Tonks really was a Muggle after all. Silly me! Well, I'm not changing my story, cuz canon isn't everything."

"Pairings are EVERYTHING in fanfiction. I mean, who cares about things like plot or characterization, as long as the hot guys get together? I read all of my fanfiction based on who's screwing who in it."

(I feel so...dirty...)

Hmmm. I'm sensing a theme here...

"Well, no, I don't actually agree with your theory that George Weasley is the reincarnation of the time-traveling pimp that Helga Hufflepuff used to arrange her secret orgies with the entire Death Eater Squad...but hey, we're all entitled to our opinions, right? I mean, who's to say what's REALLY canon? We have no literary tools but our own subjective interpretations to figure out what the books might mean or where they're going, so any theory must be as good as any other. I only believe in my theories because I've been culturally conditioned to do so, and I'm sure the same is true of you...so it doesn't really matter who's 'right.'"

Themes in Harry Potter? Symbols? Metaphors? Who are you kidding? They're children's books, for crying out loud.

"I hate reading books and I abhor libraries. I'm going to go running and then stop off at the gym for several hours to practice my tae-bo, and then I'm going to a meeting with some boomers to discuss the impact of the Vietnam war on today's youth. I just love meeting with those folks."

"I think libraries should just stock what is popular... who cares about the old stuff."
