Feelings about a repost?
How would people feel if I re-posted "Golden Mean," "House of Cards," and "Narrow Path," chapter by chapter, for comments on what needs fixing? I'm losing track in my head, and maybe doing it one at a time would help, but I don't want to annoy with it.

A question about timing

Would you post at the same schedule as you did the first time you posted these stories -- one chapter every few days -- or would it be one chapter a day, or multiple chapters per day?

Re: A question about timing

Most likely every couple of days. I'd fix what I spot, post, then see what other people spot for the final re-write.

I'd be quite the opposite of annoyed; I'd love to read them over again. It might be good if the chapters didn't come too fast, though, because it's easy to fall behind when contending with multiple installments per day.

I wouldn't be able to re-write that fast, either!

There is a regular link up to the existing editions, and I was thinking in terms of working it in manageable chunks.

I absolutely agree with sonetka I think it would not only help you, but would also help those of us who wanted to help you edit. It would mean that we could read the rewritten chapters in manageable chunks (I knew there were things I was missing, and I'm certain others felt the same, but was trying to skim through it as fast as possible with limited time because I wasn't sure when you would post the rewritten version to AO3) It would also help ensure that all the rewrites made sense, and, with you posting chapters to AO3 every little while, might make it easier there, too--I'm thinking of the odd chap misnumbering when AO3 threw its unholy tantrum.:)

Just a suggestion, but maybe create a filter for those posts; then, the people who wanted to help edit could let you know, and you could just put them on, and anyone who thought it was too much wouldn't get them? Like I said, just my .02 cents, which may not be workable for a lot of reasons.

It's a thought. The only drawback is that there are a couple of anons who post pretty regularly.

*headdesk* Entirely forgot about the anons *offers sheepish apologies to any of you who read that prior comment* I would suggest that they could maybe use Open Id? except that I'm not sure first if they'd want to use FB/twitter in case those were more RL-related, and I'm not sure if you can put open Ids on filters. The only other thing I'm coming up with is creating a separate editing journal that you could delete once you were done, but that's complicated.
ETA: the other thing people could do would be to disable notifications about your posts until the editing process was done? And then they could just very quickly scroll past on their flists if they didn't want to read? (I use a screen reader, which lets me scroll by heading, so this may be easier for me than others)

I am a non-livejournal user who would enjoy helping with the editing process, fwiw.

Good idea. I'm sure there were things I missed.

When I did this, I created a new LiveJournal account and directed interested parties there whenever I posted anything new on the other account.

I'd love to read these all together, I'm not into serial reading.
