Old Star Wars stories
In the interest of ginning up my own interest in the SW movie (just not feeling it yet), I went back and looked at some of my old fics. Since it's been a while since I wrote these, I figured there might be some people who didn't even know I did SW. ;p

Oh, okay. Just figured I'd see if these guys still had legs. Just a few I really liked writing. About a decade and a half ago.

The Flight to Rison's Deep
All original characters. Yup, that's always a good sign, right? But I re-read this this morning, and I still like it. It's one of my earlier stories dealing with the aftermath of war, and some of the awful stuff that happens on both sides. In this case, a mob attacking a school full of sons of Imperial officers after the destruction of Alderaan.

Okay, so RotS trashed my whole Padmé theory, but I... well, my theory still makes more sense. I liked this one because I always adored Luke, and this is an ickle Luke story, where he meets old Ben and fights with a krayt dragon.

My first try with Anakin, and I still like it. Deals with some of the communication problems he had with Obi-Wan, because Obi-Wan REALLY doesn't understand where he comes from, but not because they don't care about each other.

By the Grace of Lady Vader and The Ascension of the Queen, both written with ami-padme, the first also with Aeryn. Unlike the others, these are novel length.
I not only enjoyed them because it was fun to write with friends, but because this little AU really took on a life of its own, and started turning in what I found to be really neat directions. The upshot is that Padme was a prisoner of war, and was reunited with her husband... and decided to join him, getting more and more wrapped up in the dark side as she goes, without acknowledging it. This is sort of "Galadriel gets the One Ring." The first tracks pretty closely to The Empire Strikes Back... except that in the end, Amidala takes over the galaxy. The sequel reflects RotJ to an extent, but is an entirely different story.

This seems as good as any a time to inform you that Family Portrait is still not only my favourite fic of yours, not only my favourite Star Wars fic, but one of my favourite fics OF ALL TIME

Thanks. That one was fun, too. I really liked the scenario.

I've always loved your Star Wars stories, especially your take on Vader. Your Luke and Leia are very strong too. Father's Heart is still a part of my headcanon after all these years.

I'm not really looking forward to Ep. VII and the ways in which JJ Abrams will inevitably screw up the story. As far as I'm concerned, it's some alternate timeline. But when I saw the preview and heard the music . . . it was hard for me not to get just a bit excited.

I really enjoyed that one where Obi-Wan and Anakin and whatshername had to pretend to be a family. I really wanted to ship her and Obi, but... well, I guess that's the problem with Jedi, and Obi-Wan in particular. You just know it ain't ever gonna happen. Freaking space monks.
