Coco question for people who saw the Spanish dub
My Spanish is just plain not good enough to watch the movie in Spanish.

What I'm wondering is about Hector's name: In the English version, when the tour guide is taking the people past the new Hector museum, she refers to him as "Hector Rivera," which is what an Anglophone would (sort of) expect. But Miguel is definitely referred to as "Rivera"... well, it doesn't specially make sense in English, either, I guess.

So the line would be:
Hector and Imelda, parents of Socorro (Coco)
Coco and Julio, parents of Elena and Victoria
Elena and Franco, parents of Enrique
Enrique and Luisa, parents of Miguel

The sign on the shoe shop says "Rivera" and appears to be the same as it was when it went up, so presumably, "Rivera" is Imelda's paterno, or at least the name she uses when she runs the place. But unless Hector was also a Rivera (which is possible, it's a common name, I guess), it wouldn't be his name. If it was, then Coco would have it as her paterno, but unless she married another Rivera, it ought to have disappeared in her grandson Enrique -- Elena might have been Elena (Julio's paterno) Rivera, but her son would have been Enrique (Franco's paterno) (Julio's paterno), and Miguel should have been Miguel (Franco's paterno) (Luisa's paterno). Miguel is definitely listed as "Miguel Rivera," so that's presumably Franco's name... So... ????

In English, it stops making sense even sooner; the Rivera name would end with Coco herself, and Julio's name would end with Elena, and everyone would have Franco's name, whatever it may be.

Or would it be relatively easy for the family to just go with Imelda's name, since they have a business together?

So, since I can't figure it out logically, I'm just going to see if the script was consistent: Did the tour guide in the Spanish dub refer to Hector by the name "Hector Rivera"?

Hey, have you decided what to do on this one? I ask because I have a friend who speaks fluent Spanish and who I'm reasonably sure has seen Coco, and I'll be happy to pass this question on. But didn't wanna flood you with over-info if you'd already looked at the script and started writing the next part. :d

I'd love to get it passed on, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I can't think of any way it makes sense! But yes, if she could tell me what the line is when the tour guide goes to the museum, if Hector is given a proper Spanish name, that would be good. Thanks. (Meanwhile, I'm just going to finish a poem for NaPo, then hop into the end of the next scene.)
