Oh Fern, I'm at work, and now all I want to do is get back to my story and its celebration of fluff in the description of the day to day. I read that essay and could have cheered YES YES YES except people would have looked at me strangely but now my fingers are itching and I want to go back and find out where I left everyone somewhere on the edge of Europe after their epic journey on the newly rebuilt orient express which i last wrote some of about 18 months ago....:-( and I have HOURS to wait...

I really enjoyed this essay.I've seen people complaining about how long some fics are, that they could have been shorter and more to the point and how everything has to be about the plot, the world-building and so on. I bet those critics would cut all the fluff at once, but I just love it. I actually realized why I liked Tonks in your stories. It was because of all the details and even all the fluff. I never cared about her in other stories. That was an eye-opening essay.I feel as though I had just discovered some secret ingredient, lol.
