Illustmaker me

Chapter 25 ("A Risky Idea") from Shifts just went up at SQ. After a sensible comment from a reader about the oddity of Sirius accepting Dora as an adult so unconditionally, I added a couple of paragraphs explaining why I think he'd find it easier than Remus does.

I've just realized that although in real life, I've generally been averse to major age differences (and am not especially attracted to older men), in fanfic, I've consistently used them (well, except in SW, where the only romance I write at all regularly has an established difference of only five years). In Quantum Leap, I played with Al/Tina (though Al/Ruthie, my OTP if there is such a thing with such a fickle guy, wasn't too much of a difference). In LotR, I made up a wife for Frodo who was the same age as Pippin and had been Frodo's student. And of course, the Remus/Tonks, though that's May-late!July more than May-December.

I don't think I have a point here. Just a curious little difference between what I write and what I think. Unless I write more truthfully than I think.

Pairing meme

Oh, what the heck? Everyone else has done it, and if that's not a good reason, I don't know what is.

So, give me an HP pairing, and I'll rant or rave (more likely rant) about it or 100 words or so.
