The Phantom Librarian

We kind of got into this on stakebait's journal, and I've been thinking more about it, particularly as I'm watching the end of season two on FX and the real beginning of Willow's magic use.

There are parts of season six I like quite a lot, including the final trilogy, but the "magic addiction" subplot always felt off to me, and I've been thinking about why (of course; I can't just leave well enough alone).

Shrug. Just random thoughts.

Marauders of the Round Table is up at SQ, with some fixes, one of which added a mistake, which I remembered to fix and forgot to send in the fix of. I don't know why I keep making little annoying mistakes--not the big ones, which I can explain by, you know, being wrong about something, but stupid little things.

I fixed up Chapter 5 of Shades (it's not up yet), and hope that I've made Dumbledore's actions clearer. I checked the location of the knot on the Whomping Willow, and it's definitely on the trunk. Harry can't get close enough to reach the trunk, but apparently Remus and Snape both just need to pick up a stick and reach with it. Long stick, apparently. Crookshanks (and, presumably, transformed Peter) just dodge the whomping branches to get there.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to give another shot to NaNoWriMo this year. It didn't go terribly well last year, though it did get me in the habit of doing a lot of writing every day... just not on what I'd planned to write, which I ended up really disliking by the end of the second week.
