Illustmaker me

You know, there are some things out there that I wonder at the necessity of rules against. Is it really necessary to actually say that it's not proper behavior to throw books at each other in the library?

My favorite example of this, though, comes from Niagara Falls. For those who haven't been there, there's an island between the American side of the falls and the Canadian side. It's called Goat Island, for obscure reasons. There are bridges built out there and it's a nice place, but it's literally right above the Falls. Here's a website.

The island goes right down to the river and it's not blocked off. You're in the rapids.

There is a sign there, informing people that rollerblading and skateboarding on the bridges (and the island) is against the rules.

And you just know that it exists because someone thought, wow, it would be really fun to wipe out and fall in the rapids above a huge waterfall!
