Reading backward

This is jumping off of some R/T stuff, but it's something I've thought about in other cases as well--the idea that new information revises understanding of old information. This is sometimes true in life (maybe even often), but it's always true in fiction.

Fic: Gone

I was going through hp_art_daily, and came across this comic by johanirae--it's excellent. It also reminded me that I was in the middle of a story on exactly the same subject. It was embedded in a longer story, but parts of that got obsoleted in HBP and I did my usual panicked quit at that point (I will eventually get back to it), but I think the story of Sirius leaving home still works.

So, I may as well finish this part today.
