Shades, Chapter Thirteen: Scattered, pt. 2

Tonks and I are flailing madly for plot focus. ;)

Seriously, Tonks is feeling spread a bit thin--worried about Remus but also on half a dozen minor assignments for work and for the Order. One of these assignments, last seen a couple of chapters ago, involved finding magical gates that lead creatures into the Forbidden Forest. Her friend Maddie, an Unspeakable, is working with her on this one.

Various things

Chapter 9 of Shades ("Patronus") is up at SQ. Re-coding and beta-ing it, I remembered that Kingsley is keeping an eye on Dung in London, not Moody. Oops.

Hugs to sannalim... I got my card today, with two drawings in it! Yay! I bought frames, and they're going up on my wall as soon as I dig up some nails. Can I scan and share at HB, linked here, as well?

I finally finished my Christmas shopping. I'd done most of it on Thursday, then realized that I forgot my grandmother's husband, and it would be kind of rude to send a package with presents for Mom and Grandma but not include a present for Carl. I mean, he's a nice guy. I like him. I just forgot to get something on Thursday. I'm going to have to send the boxes priority. Ah yes. Reasons to do two overtime shifts in December. I'll also be sending them the printed Shifts (I'm sending the other copy to my younger cousin). Surprisingly, I got some good deals on little toys at the tourist trap known as Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market.

It's actually hard to shop for babies. Every time I looked at something, it had fuzz that could be sucked off, or little parts that could be swallowed. I finally found these cute little stuffed things for the two babies born this year. They're supposed to have a lot of different stimuli. Like regular velveteen covering, beanbag legs, crinkly ears. One's a cat, and one's a lion. The younger they get, the more accomplished I feel at finding something!
