Fictional crush meme
Okay, nicked from everyone.

List five fictional people -- from television, movies, books, whatever -- that you had a crush on as a child (or early teens). Then post this on your LiveJournal so other people can know what a dork you've always been.

1. Tom Sawyer (I so wanted to grow up and marry Tom)
2. Nat (Little Men)
3. Hawkeye Pierce
4. Alec Ramsey (Black Stallion)
5. Short Round (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom)

I contemplated putting Luke Skywalker on the list, but I didn't crush on him so much as wish he were my father and would look after me. I wanted to be a Skywalker, not marry one.

Little Men!! That has to be one of my favorite fuzzy comfort books ever.
Must reread it sometime.

Ah, yes. My first boarding school infatuation book. Sigh. :)

Oh my gosh. Alec Ramsey. *gets hit by a sudden wave of nostalgia*

Now I have the urge to go dig up all my old Black Stallion books... 'cept I'm not at home, dangit.

Oh Hawkeye. Undoubtedly. And Luke? He's number 1 on my list. I think he was the first *man* I actually noticed on screen. But then again I was 9 years old, and he made a rather good impression. Funny, I like Hawkeye the scoundrel, but Han Solo did nothing for me.

Me, too. I didn't like the scoundrel stuff, though, and mostly ignored it. I crushed on him as the uber-wonderful doctor who was great with his patients. The stuff with nurses just annoyed me.

I used to have a crush on Huck Finn. Tom was just too sweet for me. ;)

I liked Luke a lot as well, to the point where even now I feel kind of resentful if someone gripes about his excessive whining (he had a lot to whine *about*, didn't he?!) And I had an enormous crush on Sam when I first read LOTR at the age of ten; I wanted to be Rosie, thirteen kids and all. After the age of thirteen my primary romantic affections switched to Faramir, but I still like Sam a lot.

I also liked Taran from the Chronicles of Prydain; all that adventure and, in Taran Wanderer all the parentless agony! Then I got older and discovered that people with enormous parental angst issues aren't always the most pleasant kind to be involved with. But I still love Taran, nonetheless.

Oh, I love Taran. Those are some of my favorite comfort books. :)

Hey, that crush got me to take Chinese! I don't remember anything more than how to count to four and say "Ni hao" (and I have no clue on reading it), but let it not be said that geeky crushes on fictional characters do no good.

Aw, I loved Nat in Little Men--loved the book too. I've read it so many times that the spine is in horrible condition. More cracks than spine, really. :)
