Sheep meme - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
Sheep meme
I might icon this guy. :)

Anyway, I was over at the SQ comm checking out a poll, and someone whose username I didn't recognize right away liked a story of mine, so I dropped her journal and found this cute little meme. From frenchbraider's journal.

Which flock do you follow?

this quiz was made by alanna

(Added from site, since it's not in the code):
You are a -
Grunger Sheep!
I wear and do what I like. Stuff fashion and your scary pop music.

Unrelated follow-up from the author of that English quiz. Er... since when is "gotten" not a regularly used form in America? Learning not to say "gotten" when writing British characters was one of the most difficult parts (to my ear) of writing them! Sheesh... I kept expecting the Big Red Pen of Doom to descend!

How bizarre. Where does this person live, I wonder?

I use gotten. I didn't realize I was so obsolete...

Um, what? There's nothing wrong with "had gotten" - in the proper context! "She had gotten all her work done" is fine; "They had gotten done before their time limit expired" sounds really, really wrong to my ear. Isn't it much more correct to say "they had finished before their time limit expired"? It's the "done" that makes it sound so awkward to me....

Maybe if it were "They had gotten it done before their time expired..."?

Maybe she's thinking of things like "I've got it!"... which means something subtly different from "I've gotten it."

Hi! Glad you liked the sheep quiz.
I'm in the process of rereading Shifts right now (once I realized that it was actually finished on your livejournal, and not being posted at SQ right after each chapter was written), and I guess you've got yourself a squeeing fangirl :-). Hope you don't mind if I friend you?
