Hmmm, ten sentences meme
My LiveBrownie status!

I'm really not sure what it means, but it's pretty.

I have to report for jury duty tomorrow morning, all the way across town, half an hour earlier than I'd have to be at work. I was on standby and was really hoping they'd say, "Ah, stay home and sleep." Now, I'm not going to be able to sleep because I'll be frantic about oversleeping and missing the first of a series of three modes of transit I'll have to take to get there.

I always thought I'd be happy to have a chance to sit on a jury. You know, see the whole thing? But now I find that I'm just thinking, "Ugh. Buses and trains to a neighborhood I don't know in order to go to a place where even the people sending me have advised me to "bring reading material." (I'm disobeying and bringing writing material, in the hopes that I can use all the waiting around to finish up "Little Bits..." before the challenge deadline.)

I'm still working on finishing up the sentences from zoepaleologa, from whom I'm snagging this.

Posted below are ten sentence beginnings from various things I've written.

Complete each sentence in any way you like.

If you recognize a sentence as being from something of mine you've actually read, and you know how my sentence ended, either skip over it or come up with something completely different.

Post this in your LJ with ten incomplete sentences from your own writings.

1. Cho pulled out her wand, pointed it lightly at the door, and...
2. Something hit the back of his head and seemed to...
3. She was a first year, Muggle-born girl, and Vega had made a point of...
4. Regulus tensed in his seat, then he heard Sirius say...
5. Point the first, it is clear that house elves are...
6. Molly was reminded--against her will--of...
7. Sirius looked over his shoulder to see that...
8. Much to her distaste--it didn't make for a good teaching moment--Luna had...
9. Harry Potter rubbed at the middle of his forehead, but for once...
10. Callum of Gillivray, called Callum Weasel, felt guilty taking...

Well, that was interesting. I write in far too many short, simple sentences. That actually took awhile.

I think it means thirteen of your fans have played with the thingie. (I'm terribly articulate, I realize.) ;)

I can't think of anything funny to put for the sentences....

Just wanted to say I loved Jury Duty when I did it.

Unfortunately things went wrong and they had to get a whole new jury in after the tenth week. So I'm permitted to avoid Duty for something like seven years.

But I won't. It's too fun.

Jury duty? Aww, no fair.

If it makes you feel better, whenever I get called up for jury duty it really WILL be a waste of time, because having been to law school is an automatic red-flag for the lawyers, and after waiting around to be assigned to a jury pool one side or the other will just exclude me. Phooey.

The meme looks interesting, maybe I'll come back and respond after getting some homework done.

I just finished jury duty. Despite having a law degree, I got picked as an alternate. The whole shebang lasted less than three days.
