Waah, waah, waah - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
Waah, waah, waah
Have I mentioned how much I dislike sports interrupting regular programming? I'm trying to catch all of Angel so I can finally be grounded enough in the Jossverse to think about writing there. It's not my all time favorite show, but I'm enjoying it and we're at an interesting section of Season 3 (after Connor is taken but before he comes back). My only complaint about it is, what the hell was Charisma Carpenter thinking bleaching her hair?

So I get ready to tune in, check the channel guide to see which episode it's going to be today and...

I thought when we finished basketball, we were done with the stupid programming interruptions on TNT. Doesn't Turner have a sports channel or something for this sort of thing?

Forget it. Angel fans on my f-list, is there a good episode guide with a detailed breakdown of each one, like buffyguide is for BtVS? I don't feel like chasing it around TNT's sports schedule anymore.

My local NBC affiliate pre-empted Jeopardy for Wimbledon. I have been so bored the last two afternoons. ._.

Mine did too! And they pre-empt it for golf all the time. :-p

www.cityofangel.com is where I generally go for an episode guide. Detailed synopses, reviews, season overviews, character bios - pretty decent.

If only the hair was the worst of what's to come with Cordelia.

Yeah, I've seen seasons five and six. I'm mostly ticked because we're in the last section that I haven't seen.

But yeah... Cordy!!!!

You got a season six? Lucky. ;)

It's a shame about Cordy. Looking back on older seasons of Buffy she's less endearing than I first recalled, but the first couple of seasons of Angel were a nice evolution for her character, where she became one I genuinely liked. Then came the latter part of season 3, and from then on... eh. At least they allowed the old Cordy to come back for her goodbye in "You're Welcome."

Yeah. Joss made it just for me, because I'm so special. ;p That would be an easier goof to explain if I'd been typing numerals.

I liked Cordy all right in BtVS--when she told Harmony off on the Xander issue, it was a terrific moment--and AtS started well, with her dealing with being poor for the first time... but then it felt like they were really scrambling to give her something "special."

Do you use http://www.atpobtvs.com/ for Buffyfics? It's not the most immensely detailed breakdown in terms of plot, but it gives motivations and ethical dilemmas for all the episodes- a good read in any case.

(And word on Charisma's hair. I was showing my girlfriend some of the first series episodes, after we'd watched season 4, and we're wondering where her sense of style went... Does becoming a half-demon screw up your fashion sense, d'you think?)

www.cityofangel.com is definitely a great site for all Angel info, and the Buffy Dialogue Database has complete episode transcripts for all of Btvs and Ats.
*slobbers at the thought of Fern writing Jossverse fic*

http://www.chosentwo.com/ has an Angel section.

And just for fun... http://www.channelingboards.com/SpikeThesis/ (Remember that n00b watcher in season 5 of Buffy who was all excited to meet Spike because she wrote her thesis on him?)

Oh, yes! The Lydia thesis! I linked to it off of Slayage, but I'd forgotten about it. Excellent faux academic writing. I love that she's a relative and Spike wrote to her ancestor explaining that he'd just gone off to see the world or something.
