Time like treacle... - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
Time like treacle...
The day is not ending! The last four minutes have lasted at least twenty!!! :)

We're gearing up for a Potter-y bash tomorrow at work. The movies running randomly all day, a read-aloud corner, my killer word search (even I forgot where the words are!). I may even break out some Harry and the Potters CDs. I made up a big sign in the lobby to go with a display. And I bought a costume academic robe which will double as a Hogwarts robe tomorrow, and possibly tonight at the bookstore. I must find something to cinch it with. I will also bring my Firebolt, won from SQ not long after OotP came out. I'm fairly psyched, and am glad to have a job in which I can indulge my fandom today. ;)

Anyway, if anyone's at the Pru B&N tonight, I'll be wearing a black robe, with an itty bitty paper SQ Quill taped to it.

Earlier this afternoon I wrote a post talking about how quickly we seem to have reached the release date... but when it comes to today and only today, I'm with you. This day has already been about five years long!

Yes, time is c-r-a-w-l-i-n-g by so slowly today and I'm jealous of your job. I'm surrounded by people who are completely baffled that I'm so excited about a book. I love my home state, but the fact that most of these people would totally understand my anticipation if I was going to a tractor pull... :headdesk:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hope you enjoy all the Potter goodness over the weekend, and that you manage to find plenty of time for reading! I look forward to reading more of your HP fanfic once you have new canon to play with :).

You're lucky to have so many surrounding activities to participate in, although that leaves less time for reading. Have fun!

I think you've located your inner Ron! Since I am just hanging around the house tomorrow, waiting for Amazon to deliver, I'm more worried about tomorrow than today -- but I feel your pain.

Ok, can we get a Time-Turner and move it FORWARD?

Oooh, how fun! My workplace being a physics lab, I don't think I could pull off the costume without losing some credibility. :-) Have fun reading HBP! I'm heading off to Durham B&N in a few hours myself...

Your userinfo mentions iced tea and being southern.

I have no idea who you are, but we may be near each other.

(Not going to the bookstore tonight though. I reserved a copy, but didn't do anything about getting a line number, and I really shouldn't stay up all night tonight.)

Cool, hey!

The bookstore thing was fun, and surprisingly efficient! They started giving out the books at midnight sharp with an anti-climactic, "Well, let's go." I was back at my apartment by 12:30, and I was number 167! I didn't stay there the whole time though.

Mind if I friend you?

Heh, not a bit. With the caveat that I'm actually more of a political conservative than Fern, even if I don't talk about it as much. ;)

I hadn't been planning on going until morning, so I actually got there not long before you got home -- I remember when they called orange 151-200; I was in the preorder-but-unbanded group and had wandered off to reread fragments of other things. They pretty much had everybody out by one, I think.

You're in Durham? Dude, I'm in Chapel Hill! Too cool!

... And oh, um, hi. Nice to meet you and all that.

Do you go to school there? I was in CH last night, passing the time at Lucy's before midnight.

Mind if I friend you? I love meeting new people.

You rock. Shifts rocks.
