Spewing out too many words since November 2003

I got a "review" on "Gone" at FFN that was two parts of a story called "Of A Ready Mind" by Maya. Which was a Harry/Draco by the looks of it (I didn't read the whole thing), and has no connection whatsoever that I can detect to a story about Sirius and Regulus the night Sirius runs away. What the hell kind of protest is that? I mean, if it were Sirius/Regulus incest slash, I could at least see it as someone saying, "This is the way you should write this," but this kind of dumb-ass nonsense... this is the third time this has happened to me, and I'm sick of it. Now, if this follows the pattern, it's not actually "Maya" who posted it, so I'm not going to go off crazy on her--she probably has no idea whatsoever.

Does anyone know how to get rid of anon reviews on FFN? I don't want to block them altogether, because I kind of like being able to link people over whether they happen to have an account or not, but I'd like to get rid of these.

I think that you either have to block them altogether, or delete them, one at a time.

Go under "Reviews" and then to "Delete" and you should be able to view and delete anonymous reviews.

Hope that helps. ;)

I can delete them one at a time; that's good. I just could not, for some reason, navigate around the new(ish) control panel. Thanks!

I'm fairly sure it wasn't Maya -- the one time I came into contact with her, she was very nice. Especially considering that her fic had been posted at GAFF.

To delete an anon review, sign in, go to the main control page and click "Reviews" on the left side. At the top right, there's "Delete". There's a drop down box with all of the stories with anon reviews ...

Oh, I'm certain it's not Maya. The first time it happened, someone was claiming to be Cassie Claire. I have no idea what the point of this is.

Thanks for the instructions!

(AbN, can't be bothered to log in as I'm at the school library).

There's a reason I left ff.n, Fern. Go to my author page - half the time, the only reviews I got were from people I told to read, and other authors I know were harassed. A friend of mine was flamed to the point of simply giving up; she actually got threatened.

The review was probably against Maya. After all, she's a Big Name Fan, (well, you are too, but still), and people take pride in discrediting them. Which is completely immature; no, I'm not a big name fan either, you don't see me purposely discrediting people who write popular stuff. In fact, you guys are usually nice people AND good writers.

Sigh. The writing world embarasses me sometimes.

I just don't really get how this is supposed to work. Certainly, no one believes that an author would be posting her work as a review to someone else's story, especially if the person is well-known and has no special need to advertise. As an attack against person whose fic is spammed, I can see it, if the stories have some common theme that the reviewer thinks the other writer did better, but otherwise, I just don't get it.

That's annoying.

However, I must admit to loving Maya madly, so I can't help but think that if a troll was going to spam my fic reviews, I wouldn't mind it being with Maya's stuff. :P (Oh, and "If you've a ready mind" is an AU where Draco was sorted into Ravenclaw rather than Slytherin, and is fantastic so far. It is going to be H/D though, I believe.)

htis was clearly a dumb attempt of someone without a life to make you go to maya's page or lj and demand what the hack she meant by dumping her stuff in your reviews. I said dumb because it will never work. They're aiming at authors who have too much of a life to do something like that and using people who are perfectly aware of this. *sigh*
Do yo uknow what i"m doing? I"m putting m stuff on my own site and opening lj posts as a way of review boards. Maybe nothe best solution but for someone who's to lazy to write a form and rather not want her email all over the site...heh .I coudl always submit something to fic archives but we'l lsee.

I read this short story and thought of you, though not precisely.
