Snagged from gnomi

Fulfill sentence of writing a list of five things you enjoy with some degree of guilt or embarrassment.
Pass judgment on five others, and sentence them to do the same.

I don't intend to actually tag anyone. But here we go.

1. I can and do sing along with any number of musical soundtracks--including everything from The Sound of Music to Les Miserables to Once More With Feeling--when I'm by myself. Often with moderate acting involved. :p

2. I also sing along with John Denver. And Cyndi Lauper. And Bonnie Tyler. Though without so much acting.

3. I play Civilization: Call To Power, always playing England, under HP character names. Neville is currently in the lead. When I take over a foreign city or run out of real English place names in the system, I rename the cities which are duplicate names by default (London1, Birmingham1, etc) things like "Hogsmeade" and "Godric's Hollow," and when I run out of HP names, I move to Tolkien names, which never run out.

4. I fantasize heroic scenarios in which I take on bad guys and mouth off to them while kicking their asses. As opposed to my probable real reaction of keeping as quiet as I possibly could to avoid their possible notice.

5. When I went to a Weight Watchers meeting and they instructed me to imagine myself at my ideal weight, I also imagined myself as a wealthy aristocrat sipping a mimosa while lounging in a richly appointed room with mahogany furniture and velvet draperies. When we were supposed to shift around and sit like we pictured ourselves, I found it impossible, as one can't properly lounge in an armless hotel conference room chair. (I think we were just supposed to sit up straighter or something.)

*blink* er.. *blink*

I .. er.. do that. Mostly happens when I'm plotting novels in my head, and suddenly *I* am the hero/ine and I morph into super cool kickass bitch with a toungue sharper than Snape's.

As you can probably guess, these novels don't get written.

PS: Is it weird that I kinda like you a whole lot for this side of you that you've just revealed? :)

#5 makes me laugh at and love you very very much.

I was in the drugstore the other day buying a birthday card, and John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" came on the radio. I think my humming scared the woman next to me. It's nice to know there are others who actually know Denver songs! (Though, admittedly, you didn't sing it in public...)

Ahahaha I love number 5.
(Also, one of the things that makes me most excited about buying a new computer (SOON!!) is the prospect of enough memory to run Civ.)

*does 1, 2, 3, and 4 quite regularly, with fairly little embarrasment*

Singing along to musicals with acting is what musicals are for.

Oh, agreed completely. If you can't sing along, well, there goes half the point!

#3. I thought I was the only person who did that. I have an older version of Civilization and name my cities after HP characters all the time. Hee.

*giggling* I used to use Star Wars places in Civilization, and once even found a hack that made it look like spaceships and planets and stuff.

*laughs* When I used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon (back when I had a computer that could handle it that wasn't in constant use by my mother, who works on the internet), I often named guests after characters I disliked. Then I would maliciously drown them. It was very cathartic. Occasionally I'd try to get them in line for the roller coaster I built that flew off the track and crashed and killed everybody because I set the speed too high.

And, er...I have a lot of fantasies in which I do things with various characters in various fandoms...occasionally, (very) late at night, they come out in spoken form.

And this meme made me smile, and proved for me once again that one doesn't have to be a grown-up to be a grown-up. ^-^

I sing along, too. I don't act while I'm singing, but I do sing when I'm in public if there's a song I like on the radio in a mall or somewhere.

I have no clue what Civilization: Call To Power is, but I've played Risk numerous times with HP or SW. I have plans for an HP risk board somewhere around my house, though I never got around to actually making it ...

I was thinking Buffy or Xena, but I'll take SpiderMan.

The first one I can definitely relate to. Not only do I sing aloud and act to musicals, I do it while I'm watching them with my family. My sisters learned long ago that it's not a good idea to watch movies with me--I either talk or I sing ridiculously.

I also sing along to the songs I know by John Denver (only "Take Me Home, Country Roads"), Cyndi Lauper, and Bonnie Tyler. In fact, when my younger sister mentions Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, I have to sing "Total Eclipse of the Heart," starting at the "Turn around, bright eyes" part near the end and continuing to the dramatic finish (which involves a lot of acting and heart-clenching), despite the fact that I don't know most of the lyrics!

I've never read Les Mis (and just found out it was twice the size of GoF), but I saw the concert edition of the musical, and ever since then, I can't separate Thenardier and Mundungus in my mind. It's quite irritating and takes my mind off Horcruxes. Anyway, Les Mis is second only to Phantom in the musical world.
