I put Leaving Tomorrow (the Moaning Myrtle story I did) up at SQ,… - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
I put Leaving Tomorrow (the Moaning Myrtle story I did) up at SQ, fixing my serious canon-oops with Tom's age. I also pulled a couple that have been pretty badly obsoleted, and one that I know I'm not going to finish (I write too much, and I felt like my list was getting way too long!). If anyone wants to read "Summer Strangers," "Invisible," or "Blood in the Earth," they are still on HB and/or FFN, I think.

I have four different original story ideas, and I can't seem to settle. Every time I get interested in one, I end up thinking about another instead. This would be great, if they were vaguely mergeable, but one is futuristic fantasy, one is semi-classical fantasy. Two are science fiction, but in very different universes (or if they're the same universe, it's at very different times, as one involves the founding of a first colony and the other has a colony system in place for a century or two). And part of me keeps thinking how much fun it would be to do a haunted house story. I even have a title: The Addition. But I have no characters or plot (except one that steals a bit too heavily from Ann Rivers Siddons' The House Next Door, and therefore must be discarded).

Must... settle... on... something...

I'm also having a bad hair week. Just looks like hell. God, I want it to be summer. All this dry artificial heating is making my hair dull and flyaway. Waah, waah, waah.

Reviewed Leaving Tomorrow! :D

And yeah... I have about 87 different stories idea, both ficwise and original. Sigh.

Something that worked for me last fall when I was thinking about not NaNoing was to think each story through for a considerable distance, doing some spotty writing, working out the universe, that sort of thing. I have two other stories that may come to pass because I invested the time in them but discovered that the story I was to write wasn't those just now.

If you're not settled on something, it's not ripe yet.

I'm very glad you mentioned that because it very influenced the next chapter of my story. I was planning on linking to it when I post on Sunday, and you've just made it that much easier!

I just put up the link to this story and acknowledged you! Your story really did inspire me.

But... did Summer Strangers really get obsoleted? I always agreed with your theory that James and Lily could've been friends to start off with, but then he started becoming this annoying git. :)

I really love that story. Same goes for Invisible, another brilliant story which I don't believe has technically been obsoleted. I have my own favourite Snape theory (yes, I belong in the he-liked-Lily gang) but you nearly convinced me about that..

Well, all of Snape's background was wrong. "Summer Strangers"... not so much on the James/Lily stuff, but I have a feeling we're going to find out Petunia was older eventually. Mostly, I was looking for things to pull off the list. It was just getting embarrassingly long!
