Drat. Taylor did all right with his first song. He'll probably be safe, and he's the only one left I don't like. He even grates on my nerves when he's good.

Paris was terrific as usual, though "Kiss" isn't a good song for anyone whose strength is in her fabulous range.

Katherine really did screw up her first song, but the second was cute.

I honestly don't remember what Chris and Elliott did on either song. I remember Chris being pretty good, and Elliott being technically proficient but boring.

Aww. Heh. I love Taylor. I'm not a McPhee fan, though. I just find her really boring to watch and too bubbly.

To each his own, though. =)

I agree with you on Elliot.

Ah, see, Katherine's about the only one that I really *do* like. I don't dislike most of the others; I just can't bring myself to actually like them.

McPhee's voice hurts my ears. And I still have no clue why she gets complemented week after week for screeching her way through songs.

Chris should not have picked two rock songs, especially with the second one being a harsher one. (And ouch was his voice going!) I think Paris will be going home this week.

So do I. I'm dialling my fingers off, because she doesn't deserve to--she's probably the best on it this year--but as she's my favorite, she's almost certain to leave.

I thought CHris was awesome, but I'm a big Styx fan. He was my favorite tonight.

I finally did what I've been predicting I would and forgot that the show's on at different times each day. I started watching, therefore, at 8:35, and missed everybody's first song. Were there two different themes? Because the recap certainly did *not* sound like today's hits, but I couldn't put a consistent theme to them. 70s?

The year they were born. So Paris sang "Kiss" by Prince! Eep.

:feels old:

Ooh, interesting theme! I hope I get home in time to catch the Asian broadcast.

Oh, that's actually an interesting theme; I'm really sorry I missed it. Most of their themes haven't impressed me. Did I see correctly (from the recap) that Taylor did "Play That Funky Music, White Boy"? I thought that was a Vanilla Ice song, actually. From roughly 1991 -- Taylor would have been born in 1976 or '77.

He did, but that song is by White Cherry and was released in the late 1970's.
