I'm home!!!! - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
I'm home!!!!
Ah. I'm back. Yummy. I made an f-locked post saying I was on vacation--bad idea to just put up a public post saying, "By the way, I'm out of town from x to x"--but now I'm back, so no more f-locking. I hopped on Amtrak, met the maternal figure in Buffalo, and hung out with many, many people I haven't seen for a long time.

I went a little camera-whacky. I won't put up family pictures for the obvious reason that I have no permission to do any such thing, but here are some places I visited in my quick tour of the home country.

(Just linking to the galleries.)

Landscapes and architecture
Just shots of Buffalo and other things and places I saw.

Albright Knox
Pictures outside my favorite Buffalo art gallery.

A trip to the zoo
Visited the earliest public stomping grounds again.

Buffalo Public Library
Hey, I don't work anywhere near it anymore, so I can post pictures on a public post!

Book of Mormon publication site
They seem not to have expected me... ;) Really interesting tour, though.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
The event that precipitated my trip was my godsister's confirmation. I may have converted, but family's still family, and I adore the girl, so I went, leading to the emotionally confusing sense of still feeling very much at home in a building where I can navigate by the scents of old coffee, candle wax, and whatever the stain is they use on the pews. Oh, well. If God wanted me to hang out comfortably where I already felt at home, He probably would have let me just stay comfortable instead of continually prodding me.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I needed a bit of "back home" and they served very well. Hope you had a good trip.

Yes, though I'm also glad to be back! I was already doing my work e-mail from Palmyra.

By the way, there's a webcam you might like, if you're really homesick...

It looks like you had a fun and busy time away, but its nice you're back.

I don't remember ever going to the Albright-Knox Gallery, but I know I've seen Sculpture #2 in person before.

I expect that the sculptures on the public lawn are copies. It wouldn't be good to have originals spray-painted by drunk prom-goers on a lark.
