The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
I got approved to adopt a kitten or cat. I'm going tomorrow to meet some and see if we hit it off. (It's really weird to have to go through all sorts of paperwork to adopt a cat, and now they're trying to push them in pairs--I'm glad Jelly's already here, since my landlady only allows one pet each! It's a very long way from a neighbor asking if we'd like one of the litter.)

Of course, Jelly will have his nose out of joint, but I hope he ends up thinking of the new cat as a playmate instead of a competitor. I'll make a point of playing with both of them tomorrow, and I got him a toy he seems to like today while I was equipping myself. (It's a flower on a spring that he can bat to his heart's delight.)

Goodness, it certainly does seem to be the summer for people to get cats!

Yay! Congratulations on the new kitty. In theory, anyway, they're happy with company, so I really hope they'll like each other. When I wanted a cat, I had to get my lease modified, and the landlord specified that I was allowed to have *one* cat. Which turned out to mean that I didn't get my first choice of cat, since two people had applied for him, and they preferred to give him to the family that could take two. Of course, if I'd gotten him, I never would have met Athena, so it all worked out for the best. :-)

Aw, congratulations. My cat comes from a rescue centre and she'll be fifteen years old next Christmas.

Congrats! I wish I could have a kitty, but alas my lease won't permit it. Any way I don't know how well a kitty would withstand a thousand mile car ride when I go home in a year.

Yay, cats! (I am typing this one-handed because my dear Violet is currently sat on the other one)
