Still on schedule! - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
Still on schedule!

Woo-hoo. I should pass the halfway point tomorrow.

I am, of course, in the phase of saying, "Argh, it's falling apart on me! What was I thinking?!" ;p

But I tricked myself this year, and put each day's "assignment" in a separate file, and I don't even open up previous files when I start. No chance to say, "Hmm, I think I should rearrange this and fix that and..."

I just contradicted myself hugely two days ago - consciously decided that something was bad and needed to be changed - but it's bad enough that I'd cry if I tried to get my daily amount in AND fix it. Gah.

That's what December is for!

This is great, how well you're doing! Half way on day 12 - that's days early! Well-done.

Hey great job on being almost halfway there with time to spare. I like your idea of separate files... good way to keep yourself from sneaking a peek and giving into your inner editor voice. It sounds like something is giving you trouble, just keep going, even though it might not seem like it's going exactly the way you imagined. Maybe your characters have started to try to move you to write in a direction they need to go. I can only guess since we can't see what you are writing. I believe you can do it Fern. Sometimes even a small detour can yield something good.

Agh, I have this desire to go back and delete about 10,000 words of absolutely unnecessary crap. But I can't...gah, it's driving me nuts. I'm at 30K and the plot's just now starting to move at a decent pace. I suppose it's okay that I'm doing so much BSing...I am going for 70K...

This makes me think that there should be a National Symphony Writing Month. NaSymWriMo? I would definitely do that ... if it was in July or something ...
