Spewing out too many words since November 2003
I want Gina to still be here this week!!!! (I mean, aside from the audience.)

Oh, well.

I do like Bon Jovi. Good choice. Bad week for Jordin, though. Too bad, I like her.

Agreed on all counts. "Living on a Prayer" is my favorite Bon Jovi song, so I really wanted to love it, and I just ... didn't. I don't think she was *awful*, but I don't think she was good, either.

Definitely not her genre. The votes are combined from last week, though, and she was incredible last week.

My favorite was the one Phil did.

Yeah, I'm not a big Phil fan over all, but he was definitely really good this week. Actually, I've generally been warming to him over the past few weeks, but I disliked him really strongly for the first several weeks, so I keep expecting to go back to disliking him.

Melinda impressed me. (Though not so much her dancing.) Rock is really strongly not her genre, either, but she actually managed to sound like a rock singer.

I was in Simon's predicted half that hated what Blake did to "You Give Love a Bad Name." Blake's really good when he actually *sings*, but when he starts getting funky, I'm not such a fan. It's odd, too, because based on song choices and such, I get the impression that his taste in music isn't that far off from mine (unlike, say, Melinda or Lakisha, who are vastly better singers). I figure that if the contest is to give them recording contracts, taste matters -- would I ever buy their albums if I don't like the songs they do, no matter how wonderfully they sing?

Agree completely, Fern. I think Phil gave a terrific performance. Bon Jovi was good for all of them, save Jordin. She just couldn't hit that song. If voters vote by best performance from tonight's show (and you know they don't) then I don't see any way Jordin wouldn't be in the bottom two. It'll be interesting to see how things go tomorrow.

I don't think there's any way she'll be in the bottom two, even if people vote solely on each show's performance. And that's because this week is being combined with last week, and I don't think there's any way they'll get as many votes this week as they did for the charity show. Jordin did phenomenally last week, so that should carry her through. Chris will definitely be gone, but I honestly don't know about the other. It's a tough one. They've gotten to the point where everyone's too good to go!

(from a man on the West Coast)

Oh no they didn't? Did they?

I might actually have to *shivers with repulsion at the thought* watch some of American Idol tonight.

I will have to dig out my nausea perscription, too. :p

I would have loved to see Gina perform tonight. I do think that Jordin had the worst performance, but I don't think it'll be enough to send her home. I loved Blake's performance, and hopefully the voters did too. I think Chris needs to go, but I don't know who else should leave.
