More PoA
Thinking of the things that JKR might have meant as clues for the future.

Since it's not going to be factually accurate and she described it as a surprise, I'll cut out canon details. I also don't think it's anything "shippy" in the sense of romance, though I have no logical reason for this.

  • Remus knew Lily better than he's let on. No, I don't mean in a shippy sense. But I think Remus may have some keys to Lily. And the constant references to her eyes again... we're definitely going to be seeing something more about Lily.

  • All the light symbolism--in the dark, bring a light, etc. This was played on in the novel, played on again in OotP, and I think that light symbolism is going to be involved somehow in the final two books.

  • The deeper focus on Harry flying Buckbeak. I think he'll be flying Buckbeak again.

Don't know if she's on your flist, but brimful just offered some interesting speculations at the end of her review. [She also echoes, nearly word-for-word, your comment about Remus/Lily.]

And, I'll repeat my concern about the lure Hermione uses to get Buckbeak away from danger. Of all the choices Cuaron/Kloves had, that couldn't've been coincidence.

Well, it was dead ferrets that they had Buckbeak snacking on in PoA while he was in Hagrid's hut; that could be where they get it, so it may have no connection to Draco (or to the Weasleys, ferrets being a sort of weasel). I suspect that's where Kloves took it from. That doesn't mean it has no significance.

Oh, it could have been. But JKR makes a different choice. Repeatedly. Across books. Rule #1 of the HP Sleuth: If she repeats it, she wants us to remember it. Oh, I do hope it's what it looks like...

One more thing -- both Remus & Lily were prefects, weren't they? That might've enabled them to work together more than she worked with the rest of the marauders...

No, it's not in the books, though it makes sense. It's one thing for a Head Boy who'd never been a prefect to be there in a given year, but to have both the Head Boy and the Head Girl be non-prefects might be stretching credulity. Still, it's not one of those "If Lily's not a prefect you're out of canon!" things--it's just a fairly sensible extrapolation.

I'm a little afraid of a few possible hints, such as the tender embraces between Sirius & Lupin. :( Perhaps the director is a Sirius/Remus shipper; I certainly hope JKR didn't push him in that direction. I am holding out for Remus and Tonks - or at least Remus and a female!

I really didn't see any R/S in that movie. The embrace was brotherly and holding him back when he became a werewolf was... holding him back when he became a werewolf! Stupid, but not erotic.
