A Fifi cover - The Phantom Librarian
Spewing out too many words since November 2003
A Fifi cover
I was sorting out returned books today, and came across this. It looks like A Fifi LaFolle story featuring the hero of Ruthless's beloved Zoltan Burr novels. Only, I think of both of those as spoofs, and this is an... actual book. It made me giggle and that made the morning much better.

LOL! Reminds me of the batch of alumna-author books I had to catalog back in college. The penname she'd chosen was "Merline Lovelace."

Alum authors exist to provide a little grin in a ho-hum college collection... ;p

Heehee. I was in the bookstore the other day having a good chuckle over the romance section. Most of them seem to be about highlanders and/or vampires/werewolves/werelions/etc.

You have to wonder how the highlanders feel about being as popular as vampires and werewolves...

And let's not forget the Highland Vampires and Werewolf Scots.

Sudden mental image of Fifi writing Lupin's life story but giving him a Scottish accent . . . among other, no doubt lurid inaccuracies.

Hee, I actually did give him a bit of a lilt from his mother's side. ;p But that was because I was on Team Ewan for casting...

When my brother was single, I used to tell him that he really wasn't capitalizing enough on his Scottish heritage.

To judge by romance covers, you'd think that Scotland was just brimming with ridiculously hot, sculpted men who went around wearing nothing but kilts. I can only imagine how disappointed people who read nothing but romance novels must be with reality.

I'm glad there's a Kindle version, because I don't know how anyone could carry around that cover art in a subway system...

*giggles* Reminds me of a friend of mine who went off to Scotland this summer (with her hubby and kids in tow). She inhales this sort of 'literature' and wanted to find all these specific castles. She carried her Kindle with her. I tried to steer her towards some real castles and interesting places, but her main focus was 'absorbing the atmosphere' to more fully appreciate these books. I haven't heard from her since they returned. I have to wonder how that went.

So for whatever reason I thought this was, "The Laire who Laided Me" till I saw it was Loved today. I am quite amused :D.

Is it bad that my first reaction was "that's not a kilt and it's not real tartan, he's wearing a tablecloth"?

No worse than me wondering who's pulling it off so carefully from one corner.

I have that book

I have and have read that book. Can't tell you what it's about now but I know I like her series.

I have no problem toting it around places, I got over that fear a long time ago though. I prefer the Scotch/Highlander stuff over the paranormal stuff lately. They have been in Vamp/Werewolf overkill for a few years now.
