Just for fun...
Here's a game. In comments on this post, severely_lupine mentioned how often bodice rippers are called The [Blank] and the [Blank]. (Eg, in the novel in the post, The Pirate and the Puritan.) I've also noticed many in the form, The [Type of Person]'s Curse/Blessing/Gift/Destiny/Etc.

So, let's play Fifi.

Using those two forms, make up a title, and the silliest, most overwrought bodice-ripper description you can think of.

No prize or anything, but I thought it might be fun. Funny ones might show up on Teddy's bookshelves. ;p

interesting but question...

the "blank" and the "blank" are they to be people? or can they be words? like "The Shadow" and the "flower"

or does it have to stick to the "Casanova" and the "lady bird"

or something

but this sounds like fun.

and also.... why would this be in Teddy's bookshelf, hmm? keepsakes from mom and dad, or typical teenage ignorance in trying to woo girls and resorting to the worst advice possible-aka romance novels?

Re: interesting but question...

Either way. Whatever's funniest to you.

Teddy's bookshelf has all of Dora's books, and he reads them furtively (though everyone's pretty well known about it since Fifi arrived at Hogwarts to help him out in Daedalus Maze).

The Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stones... as a bodice ripper.

*giggle* Not really my genre, but I'll take a shot. (Going with Potter-verse-style titles here.)

The Potioneer and the Pop Star
The Wayward and the Wandless
The Professor's Charms
The Auror and the Aristocrat
The Shapeshifter's Burden
The Marauder and the Maiden
The Death Eater's Heart
The Werewolf's Lady
The Centaur's Bride
The Mermaid and the Madman

I think the really amusing part is picturing Teddy reading such books.

Love these - The Wayward and the Wandless sounds like it could be a soap opera, too.

Whee!

The Professor and the Professional
The Seeker and the Snitch *
The Overseer and the Undersecretary
The Housewife and the House-Elf **
The Pureblood and the Muggle
The Grey Lady and the Bloody Baron

The Seer's Destiny
The Potionmaker's Solution
The Bishop's Confession
The Professor's Lesson
The Healer's Affliction

And finally, although not in form, two titles I always wanted to use for a really cheesy ambiguous!Harry / redeemed!Pansy saga:
Her Inner Gryffindor
His Inner Slytherin

* see what I did there?
** no, not like that. Perverts.
